大家一起快乐记单词


【活动内容】

英语角每周放出七个单词，并配上妙趣横生的图片。
帮助大家在会心一笑的同时，记住这些英文单词。
咱们的要求就是，请大家在了解完各自的单词之后，
用该单词造个句子即可。
轻轻松松学英语，就是这么简单！
下面的则是一些在囧记单词里面的一些小附加神马的。活动内容及奖励不变

【活动奖励】

用每期所给出的七个单词分别造句。每造一句子，20PB的奖励，限3句，每句句型不得重复。相同的单词限同一楼层回复。

规则：

1. 一个句子奖励20PB，在同一个句子中，每多使用本期的一个单词，就多奖励5PB，即一个句子里使用两个单词奖励25PB，使用三个单词奖励30PB，以此类推。 用到两个及以上单词时，请用不同颜色标注出你所用到的单词。
2.每周七个单词，每个单词都至少造一个句子，且都符合造句要求的将获得英语角骑士勋章2积分。
3.欢迎大家提供新的单词来记，版主根据难易度和常见度审核所提交的单词，一经采纳，更有多重惊喜等你来拿！
4.为了“记单词”活动更有声色，更具有实际性，从这期开始，LZ会在贴子里增加好听的英文歌，也希望参加的各位pairs多多提供好听的英文歌，一经采纳，同样有多重惊喜！~(≧▽≦)/~啦啦啦

【造句要求】

使用每周给出的新单词造句，所造句子不可与给出的例句雷同；专有名词，如地名，人名，商标名，书名，电影电视名，歌曲名等等，不可用于造句；也不可造类似“I have learned a new word or phrase "XXX".”这种不能体现该单词意义的句子。

英语角的单词造句鼓励原创，若被版主有理由怀疑其从网上直接摘抄，将不给活动分。

  mean [mi:n] adj. 平均的；下贱的；卑鄙的；n. 平均值；中间；方法，手段








mean

1. VERB 动词意思是;表示…的意思;作…解释 If you want to know what a word, code,signal, or gesture means, you want to know what it refers to or what itsmessage is.

例：The red signal meansyou can shoot.
       红色信号表示可以射击。

2.  ADJ-GRADED 吝啬的;小气的 If you describe someone as mean, you arebeing critical of them because they are unwilling to spend much money or to usevery much of a particular thing

例：Don't be mean withfabric, otherwise curtains will end up looking skimpy.
       别这么吝啬布料，不然做出来的窗帘会显得特寒酸。

3.  N-SING 单数名词See also: means; 平均数;平均值The mean is a number that is the average of a set of numbers

例：Take a hundred and twenty values and calculate themean.
       取120个值计算平均数。

  bounce   [baʊns]  vi. 反弹，弹起；跳起






Bounce

1. V-ERG 及物/不及物动词（使)弹起；（使)反弹 When an object such as a ball bouncesor when you bounce it, it moves upwards from a surface or away from itimmediately after hitting it.

例：My father would burst into the kitchen bouncing afootball.
      我的父亲会颠着足球冲进厨房。

2. VERB 动词(在柔软物体表面）跳上跳下，蹦跳，弹跳 If you bounce on a softsurface, you jump up and down on it repeatedly.

例：She lets us do anything, even bounce on our beds.
       她放任我们随心所欲，甚至连我们在床上蹦跳她也不管。

gang [ɡæŋ] n. 一帮，一伙







Gang

1. N-COUNT 可数名词一帮，一伙（尤指滋事的年轻人） A gang is a group of people,especially young people, who go around together and often deliberately causetrouble.

例：During the fight with a rival gang he lashed out with his flick knife...
       在与敌对帮派的打斗中，他挥舞着弹簧折刀一通猛刺。

2.  N-COUNT 可数名词一帮，一伙（罪犯） A gang is a group of criminals who worktogether to commit crimes.  

例：Police were hunting for a gang who had allegedly stolen fifty-five cars.
       警方正在追捕一个被控盗窃了55辆汽车的犯罪团伙。

Companionship

1.  N-UNCOUNT 不可数名词友谊;交往;伴侣关系 Companionship is having someone youknow and like with you, rather than being on your own.  

例：I depended on his companionship and on his judgment...
      我信赖他的友情，也相信他的判断。

     Men expect competition incompanionship.
     男性通过竞争获得友谊。

  jigsaw  [ˈdʒɪgsɔ:] n. 拼图游戏，线锯；vt.用线锯锯，使互相交错搭接





Jigsaw

1.  N-COUNT    拼图；拼图玩具 A jigsaw or jigsaw puzzle is a picture on cardboard or wood that has been cut up into odd shapes. You have to make the picture again by putting the pieces together correctly.

例：People still getvery excited aboutjack london.Any additional piecein the jacklondon jigsaw puzzle is very important to people.
       人们现在仍然对杰克伦敦痴迷不已，杰克伦敦七巧板的任何一块拼板，对杰克伦敦迷们都相当重要。

2. N-COUNT    错综复杂的情况；谜团 You can describe a complicated situation as a jigsaw .

sprawl [sprɔ:l] n. 四肢伸开的躺卧姿势，蔓生；v. 四肢伸开地坐（或爬），爬行，蔓生，蔓延






Sprawl

1.  VERB   (懒洋洋地)伸开四肢坐着(或躺着) If you sprawl somewhere, you sit or lie down with your legs and arms spread out in a careless way.

例：They sprawled in lawn chairs, snoozing...
        他们手脚张开地躺在草地躺椅上，打着呼噜。

2. VERB   扩展;延伸 If you say that a place sprawls, you mean that it covers a large area of land.

例：The sprawling city contained some 4m people.
       这个不断扩张的城市容纳了约 400 万人口。

3.N-UNCOUNT (城市的)杂乱无章地扩展的地区 You can use sprawl to refer to an area where a city has grown outwards in an uncontrolled way.

例：The whole urban sprawl of Ankara contains over 2.6m people.
      安卡拉整个肆意扩展的城区容纳了 260 多万人口。

  pirate ['paɪrət] n. 海盗；盗版者；vt. 抢掠；非法盗用；vi. 当海盗；从事劫掠






Pirate

1.  N-COUNT    海盗；海上劫掠者 Pirates are sailors who attack other ships and steal property from them.

例：In the nineteenth century, pirates roamed the seas.
      19世纪时海盗猖獗。

2.  VERB    非法复制及出售（录像带、录音带、书籍、计算机程序等） Someone who piratesvideo tapes, cassettes, books, or computer programs copies and sells them when they have no right to do so.

例：A school technician pirated anything from video nasties to computer games.
       学校的一名技术人员做盗版，从黄色录像到计算机游戏什么都有。
