【活动内容】

英语角从10月3日起推出【每日一单词】的长期活动。
周一到周日，每天放出一个单词，并配上妙趣横生的图片。
请大家在学习完当天的单词之后，用该单词造个句子即可。

【活动奖励】

每造一句子，20PB的奖励，限3句，每句句型不得重复。限同一楼层回复。

连续参加一个星期的童鞋，额外有50PB的奖励。在最后一天跟帖说明即可。

【要求】：使用当天给出的新单词造句，所造句子不可与给出的例句雷同；专有名词，如地名，人名，商标名，书名，电影电视名，歌曲名等等，不可用于造句；也不可造类似“I have learned a new word or phrase "XXX".”这种不能体现该单词意义的句子。

英语角的单词造句鼓励原创，若被版主有理由怀疑其从网上直接摘抄，将不给活动分。


【写在后面的话】

说起与【囧记单词】的结缘，几乎已经忘记了
然而从前一直都是在apple store下载到itouch上之后，连上wifi就下载单词来看的
后来某一天，突然发现，它竟然有微博
于是果断收听了
很不错的地方，轻松学英语
每次看了，都让人捧腹大笑

每一天的开始，都可以从【囧记】开始，因为它可以给你每天快乐的出发
每一天的结束，都可以从【囧记】结束，因为它会让你开心的入睡

tease [ti:z] vt. 戏弄,取笑;挑逗,撩拨 n. (爱)戏弄他人者;戏弄,挑逗

囧仔表示他什么都不知道，这纯属低级黑啊！！

tease一个人表示为了让对方恼怒，生气或者尴尬而故意取笑。
He told her how the boys in East Poldown had set on him, teasing him...
【tease这个意思也可以作为名词】

n.
2.If you refer to someone as a tease, you mean that they like laughing at people or
making jokes about them.
说一个人是tease，则表示他经常开别人玩笑

metro  ['metrəu] n. 地铁；大都市；伦敦地下铁道；

据说这是某位外国游客在北京的地铁站里的机器自动售票处的遭遇。“想要在这台机器上买票，你得有中国身份证，那你干嘛又要弄个英文界面呢？”于是她在foursquare上留下了她的吐槽……










metro
n.
1.The metro is the underground railway system in some cities, for example in Paris.
metro在某些城市指地铁系统。（例如巴黎）

【岚君几天前刚刚和身边的人探讨过Metro作为地铁这种用法的常见性。在多伦多，地铁被称为
subway，而metro则是这边一个二十四小时超市的名称。岚君去年去南京玩的时候看到南京的地铁写着metro觉得有些怪异，因为metro在法语里到的确是地铁的意思，但是在英语中，相对比较不常见。记得岚君在波士顿的时候，地铁似乎是被叫做the T 的，不过这个说法应该只是在波士顿通用。英国方面，就岚君看的为数不多的英剧来看，地铁在伦敦会被称为tube，具体情形还等希希来纠正吧~】

【希希补充：在英国地铁确实是叫tube，subway是地下通道的意思，然后这边也有一份报纸，叫做 Metro。咳咳，英式英语，美式英语，各种坑爹啊。。。】

【岚君又来了：其实我们这边公交系统提供的免费报纸也叫metro，不过其实里面的文章都是从别的报纸那边弄来的，然后广告一大堆。】

相关词汇： metropolitan & metropolis
metropolis是名词，指主要城市，首都，首府城市。metropolitan是形容词，表示大都市的。
PS： 纽约有个metropolitan museum相当的不错~o(∩_∩)o

大家造句依旧可以用metro作为地铁的例子来造句。各种对地铁的吐槽都可以上哦~！

unfair  [ʌn'feә] adj. 不公平的,不公道的

unfair
adj.
1.An unfair action or situation is not right or fair.
unfair表示情形或者某个行动不正确 不公正
She was awarded ￡5,000 in compensation for unfair dismissal...

2.An unfair system or situation does not give equal treatment or equal opportunities to everyone involved.
一个unfair的系统或者情形一般指机会或者待遇不平均分配。
The American plane makers continue to accuse Airbus of unfair competition...

regret sth. 指你希望你没有做那件事

I regret sth 是一种礼貌的说法表示你很对此遗憾

unresponsive
adj.

An unresponsive person does not react or pay enough attention to something, for
example to an urgent situation or to people's needs. (FORMAL)
unresponsive用来形容一个人不够集中注意或者不作出反应。
He was totally unresponsive to the pressing social and economic needs of the majority of the population.

2.
If a person or their body is unresponsive, they do not react physically in a normal way, or do not make any movements. (FORMAL)
unresponsive也可表示一个人身体上的反应不正常，或者完全不动。（动作迟钝）
I found her in a coma, totally unresponsive.

invoke [in'vəuk] vt. 调用；祈求；引起；恳求

这不公平！为什么猫蹲在那儿看着门把手就有人给开门！开会的时候我跪在那儿盯着门把手，人们都觉得我疯了！










invoke
v.
1. If you invoke a law, you state that you are taking a particular action because
that law allows or tells you to.
invoke 援引一项法律条款，表示你依据法律采取的一种特定行为
The judge invoked an international law that protects refugees.

2. If you invoke something such as a principle, a saying, or a famous person, you
refer to them in order to support your argument.
你引用一条原则，或者名人名言等来支撑论据时，可以用invoke这个动词来表示。
He invoked memories of Britain's near-disastrous disarmament in the 1930s...

3.If something such as a piece of music invokes a feeling or an image, it causes
someone to have the feeling or to see the image.
invoke也可以表示让人想起。
The music invoked the wide open spaces of the prairies.
