[s[color=#663366]ize=4]Just now I tried to write a composition with the title "Should Universities charge high tuition fees?" I did not plan for a very long time and then I started. After writing one paragraph and part of the second paragraph, I stopped, not knowing what to write about. I know the problems lie in my lack of critical thinking. An analytic mind is something I must develop because conflicting thoughts help we think in a logical way.

These days, as I recite good articles,read newspapers and novels and do exercises, I do progress a lot. Yet, my writing still remains at the same level as I did in university. This is not something to be happy about. I want to write an English novel in future, if I write so poorly, this aim must be to no avail in the end. I must seek out some ways to change this dire situation.


It is really not easy for a Chinese to write perfect English.

well, from the writing course that i took, the instructor mentioned that writers should spent 50% of their time to plan, 20% to write, and 30% to edit...after the outlines are set, writers should start writing without stops...even when they encounter "writer's block", leave a blank space and keep writing....sometimes, shrot sentences work better than longer ones...and avoid using "fillers".

Well, as for me, the English composition I can not ensure each one is good but when I take the exam outside China, the writing part which I could get a high score is not prepared well each time.
I believe the most effective way to study to write better is to simulate Americans' and English essays and recite some useful words and sentences then simulate them.
Fianlly, these words and sentences are your style

I think we need to practice as often as we can:)

Im not that good in english so i cant really give you any advice, but im learning latin at the moment, and my vocabulary increased exponentially
reading tons, regardless of what you are reading should expand your vocabulary as well, guess you already know that already  :)
