Why you use "XOXO" every time as your signature? Is that because of gossip girl?

well, a part of reason is I am reading the novel, and its really fun.
also because XOXO means kisses and hugs (抱抱亲亲) and all the girls in my school love to use it to their friends, its like a popular thing..and it sounds cute and lovely, very girly, yeah ❤
